abstract | Described herein are prosthetic valves for replacing aortic, pulmonary, mitral or tricuspid valves. A suture ring for use with a prosthetic valve is also described. The valve may have a perimeter that is a predetermined distance greater than the annulus in the defective valve. The valve may be substantially planar in a stress-free arrangement prior to attachment to the annulus and substantially non-planar when attached in a biased arrangement in the annulus. A method is provided for placing the valves described herein in a biased configuration within an annulus of a defective valve. |
