abstract |
The present invention provides a proton exchange membrane and membrane electrode assembly for an electrochemical fuel cell. A catalytically active component is disposed within the membrane electrode assembly. The catalytically active component includes particles of cobalt cation and boron stabilized silicon oxide. The present invention also provides a method for increasing the peroxide radical resistance in a membrane electrode comprising the introduction of the described catalytically active component into the membrane electrode assembly. |
