abstract |
The present invention relates to a process for providing esters of hyaluronic acid, hyaluronic acid salts or hyaluronic acid derivatives with hydrophobic organic compounds. The process involves (i) micronizing hyaluronic acid, its salts or derivatives at reduced temperature to obtain the desired ester, and (ii) obtaining the hydrophobic compound in step (i) in a suitable solvent. Reacting with the micronized hyaluronic acid obtained and (iii) filtering or dialyzing the reaction mixture obtained in step (ii). The object according to the invention is also the esters obtained by the method and compositions containing them, the use for the treatment and / or prevention of cartilage damage and inflammation. |
