abstract | A method for producing a transparent electrode suitable for use in an organic semiconductor photovoltaic device. First and second silanes (3) are deposited from the vapor phase onto the substrate (1) and bind to the substrate surface. Next, a metal film (4) is deposited from the gas phase and bonded to the first and second silanes so that a transparent metal layer having a thickness of about 15 nanometers or less is formed. The first silane is a non-amino functional silane and the second silane is an amino functional silane. The electrode may be flexible using a polymer substrate (1). The metal film (4) can be provided with a plurality of openings (5), for example by depositing metal and subsequently removing the microspheres while masking the substrate with the microspheres (2). And / or by annealing the metal so that the openings appear. |
