titleOfInvention Foam including microcell-like foam containing colloidal fine particles
abstract The present invention generally relates to foams and particles made from such foams for applications such as drug delivery. The foam or particle can include a pharmaceutically acceptable polymer carrier. In some cases, the foam may include colloidal particulate matter. The first aspect of the present invention generally relates to foams or particles based on polymers containing pharmaceutically active agents. In some cases, the foam or particles may contain smaller colloidal particulates therein. Such colloidal particulates may be used, for example, to limit the amount of material in a particular area of the foam or to exclude pharmaceutically active agents from being located in a particular part of the foam. It may be useful to enhance the release of the pharmaceutically active agent from the foam.
