An electrolyte composition comprising a detectable contrast agent that enables detection of electrolyte spillage or leakage during or after cell assembly and an electrochemical cell comprising the electrolyte composition are provided. In some embodiments, after the contrast agent is added to the cell, the contrast agent can change the color intensity of the electrolyte composition over time. A method for detecting the outflow or leakage of the contrast agent-containing electrolyte composition during cell assembly is also disclosed. [Selection figure] None |
