abstract The present invention relates to metathesis from butenes (iso-, 1-, cis and trans-2-) and pentenes to propylene and hexene (with ethylene, pentenes, products butenes, heptenes, octenes). And then aromatizing hexene (along with higher olefins such as heptenes and octenes) to benzene (along with toluene, xylenes, ethylbenzene, styrene). Since the desired products of the metathesis reaction are propylene and hexene, the raw materials for the metathesis reaction are advantageous for the production of propylene and 3-hexene, and the concentration of hexenes and higher olefins in the metathesis product is 30 mol. % 1-butene: 2-butene molar ratio. It is good also as a molar ratio of 1-butene: 2-butene desirable as a raw material composition to a metathesis reactor using an isomerization reactor. After the metathesis reaction, hexene and higher olefins are separated for aromatization to benzene and other aromatic compounds.
