abstract |
A high temperature (HT) proton exchange membrane (PEM) is used to produce a membrane / electrode assembly (MEA) with improved current density or power density. The MEA can be utilized in high temperature PEM fuel cell applications. More specifically, one or more selected materials are added to the catalyst layer to increase the reaction rate of the fuel cell, thus achieving a dramatic increase in MEA power output in the fuel cell. By doing so, the MEA is improved. The MEA has applications in other electrochemical devices such as electrolyzers, compressors or generators, purifiers, and hydrogen and oxygen concentrators using HT-PEM-MEA. [Selection] Figure 2 |
