The particles include carbon deposits deposited by pyrolysis on a portion of their surface, wherein A is Li only or Li partially replaced by up to 10 atomic% Na or K; M is Fe (II) or Mn (II) or a mixture thereof alone or a maximum of 30 atomic% of one or more metals selected from Mn, Ni and Co and / or a maximum of 5% Fe Fe (II) or Mn (II) partially substituted with (III) or a mixture thereof, XO 4 selected from PO 4 alone or up to 10 mol% SO 4 , SiO 4 and MoO 4 PO 4 partially substituted with at least one selected group, the material having a calcium impurity content of less than about 1000 ppm.
