titleOfInvention Multiple windowing scheme for spectroscopic coherence tomography (OCT) and Fourier domain low coherence interferometry
abstract Current devices and methods for spectroscopic coherence tomography (SOCT) signal analysis suffer from an inherent trade-off between time (depth) and frequency (wavelength) resolution. In one non-limiting embodiment, a multiple or double window (DW) apparatus and method is provided for reconstructing a time frequency distribution (TFD) that applies two windows that independently determine optical and temporal resolution. The For example, optical resolution can be related to scattering information about the sample, and temporal resolution can be related to absorption or depth related information. The effectiveness of the apparatus and method is demonstrated in the simulation and processing of measured OCT signals, including regions that vary with time and frequency. DW technology can maintain a high spectral and temporal resolution and obtain a TFD that is free of artifacts and limitations commonly found in other processing methods. [Selection] Figure 5A
