abstract |
The present invention is a metal oxide support material comprising nanoscale iron-platinum group metal particles having a particle size of 0.5-10 nm, wherein at least 70% of all nanoscale iron-platinum group metal particles The metal oxide support material is located on the outer surface layer of the metal oxide support material, and the average volume of the outer surface layer is 50% of the total volume of the metal oxide support material. The present invention also relates to a method for producing a metal oxide support material containing such nanoscale iron-platinum group metal particles. The invention further relates to the use of metal oxides comprising nanoscale metal particles as catalysts, for example as diesel oxidation catalysts for the treatment of exhaust gas from diesel engines.
