titleOfInvention Mounting system, apparatus and method
abstract Disclosed are ventricular assist systems and methods for implanting the system. The system can include a pump, an inflow conduit, an outflow conduit, a mounting ring, a ring clamp, and a valve structure. The attachment ring can be attached to the tip of the heart. The valve structure may have a flexible one-way valve within the rigid housing. The inflow conduit may penetrate the valve structure and attachment ring in the beating heart so as to minimize blood loss. Devices such as cutting tools, coring knives, and / or C-clamps, and the use of these devices are part of systems and methods for implanting an auxiliary artificial heart.
