A method of manufacturing an intraocular delivery device includes exposing a solid shaped cellulose polymer to a solution comprising an API (API) and a solvent that can solubilize the API, the polymer comprising an API and a solvent. Absorbs at least a portion of the solution. The method can further include removing at least a portion of the absorbed solvent from the polymer by evaporating the absorbed solvent from the polymer or by drying the polymer. A variety of cellulose polymers can be used, including hydroxypropylcellulose. A variety of APIs can be used, including cyclosporine, tobramycin and vancomycin. Various ocular disorders can be treated using the intraocular delivery device produced by this method. [Selection] Figure 1 |
