AX213 and AX132PCSK9 antagonists and variants |
abstract |
Disclosed are antagonists of the human proprotein convertase subtilisin-kexin type 9 ("PCSK9"). The disclosed antagonists are effective in inhibiting PCSK9 function and thus present desirable antagonists for use in the treatment of pathologies associated with PCSK9 activity. The present invention also discloses a nucleic acid encoding the antagonist, a vector, a host cell, and a composition comprising the antagonist. Also disclosed are methods of making PCSK9-specific antagonists and methods of using the antagonists to inhibit or antagonize PCSK9 function and constitute an important further aspect of the present disclosure. |
