abstract | A method for reducing impurities from solid epoxy resin in discrete particle form. The method includes heating a heterogeneous mixture that includes a solid epoxy resin and also includes a solution while maintaining a discrete particle morphology to a predetermined temperature that is lower than the softening point temperature of the solid epoxy resin. The heterogeneous mixture is stirred at a predetermined temperature for a predetermined time to extract ionic species from the solid epoxy resin into the solution and to separate the solid epoxy resin in discrete particle form from the ionic species in the solution. The separated solid epoxy resin has a lower impurity content than the heterogeneous mixture before heating. |
