Polyurethane formulation with high green strength and gun ability |
abstract |
A moisture curable polyurethane formulation is provided that has high green strength and can be dispensed from a caulking gun that can be cured to form a reaction product. The polyurethane blend is added to or formed in situ at least one isocyanate-terminated prepolymer, at least one flow modifier or filler, optionally monomer / polymer isocyanate, and the blend. And includes at least one urea-based thixotropic additive to provide greater than 1% urea groups in the reaction product. Also provided are methods of making a moisture curable polyurethane formulation that can be cured to form a reaction product, and using the formulation to bond materials together. |
