A percutaneous stented valve delivery device comprising an inner shaft, a sheath, and a delivery capsule. The sheath slidably receives the inner shaft. The proximal band of the capsule is attached to the sheath. The distal band of the capsule is configured to transition between a normal state and an expanded state. The diameter of the distal band increases in the expanded state and the capsule includes a shape memory component that naturally assumes the normal state. The instrument is operable to perform a reversible partial deployment procedure in which a portion of the prosthesis is exposed distally of the capsule and is radially expandable. Later, when the capsule moves distally, the distal band transitions to an expanded state, applying a folding force to the prosthesis, so that the prosthesis is folded radially and recaptured inside the delivery capsule. become. The capsule can include a laser cut tube encapsulated with a polymer. [Selection] Figure 11B |
