Drug delivery system (wafer) for pediatric use |
abstract |
The present invention relates to a drug delivery composition in the form of a thin water-soluble film (wafer), which is not an alkaline earth metal salt of estrogen and / or progestin and / or 5-methyl- (6S) -tetrahydrofolate A composition is described comprising a particle comprising one active ingredient and at least one protective agent. The protective agent provides effective taste masking of the active ingredient for the purpose of limited release of the active ingredient in the mouth. The active ingredient is therefore absorbed via the intestinal route (by the oral cavity) rather than the buccal route. The particles contained in the wafer provided by the present invention have a particle size of less than 40 μm, which results in acceptable in the mouth during dissolution. Such a wafer is particularly suitable for pediatric use. |
