abstract The present invention provides an environmental load reduction type heat treatment method and a heat treatment furnace capable of improving processing efficiency. A heat treatment method according to the present invention is a heat treatment method for heat-treating a workpiece W in a heat treatment furnace 1, and is disposed in the heat treatment furnace 1, a carrying-in process for carrying the work W into the heat treatment furnace 1, and the heat treatment furnace 1. In order to rapidly heat the workpiece W, an immersion heating step in which the workpiece W is immersed in a heat source solvent, a superheated steaming step in which the inside of the heat treatment furnace 1 is set to a superheated steam atmosphere, and the workpiece W in the heat treatment furnace 1 are exposed to the superheated steam atmosphere.
