abstract | A polyester resin excellent in transparency, heat resistance, and thermal stability is provided. A polyester resin mainly containing a diol unit and a dicarboxylic acid unit, wherein 1 to 70 mol% in the diol unit is a unit derived from a specific glycol compound, and 99 to 99 in the diol unit. A polyester resin in which 30 mol% is another diol unit, 30 mol% or more in the dicarboxylic acid unit is an aromatic dicarboxylic acid unit, and satisfies all of the following conditions (1) to (3). (1) The melt viscosity when measured at a measurement temperature of 260 ° C. and a shear rate of 100 s −1 is in the range of 100 to 2000 Pa · s. (2) The glass transition temperature of the polyester resin measured with a differential scanning calorimeter is 85 ° C. or higher, and the calorific value of the crystallization exothermic peak during cooling is 5 J / g or lower.
