The present invention relates to a metal-containing zeolite catalyst capable of continuously providing a low olefin in a high yield for a long period of time by catalytic cracking of a lower saturated hydrocarbon contained in naphtha and the like, and unsaturated hydrocarbons using the catalyst. A manufacturing method is provided. A method for producing a lower olefin according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises a metal (X) selected from Group 5 to 12 metals of the periodic table and 10 tetrahedral TO 4 (T; Si or Al) units. A metal-containing zeolite catalyst having a mesoporous zeolite having a 10-membered ring structure as a constituent element is contacted with a raw material mainly composed of saturated hydrocarbons having a boiling range of 35 to 180 ° C., and ethylene, propylene and butene are the main components. (1) The composition ratio of Si and Al contained in the intermediate pore zeolite is 300 as a molar ratio (SiO 2 / Al 2 O 3 ) converted to silica and alumina.
