A secondary battery capable of obtaining excellent battery characteristics is provided. Both the first lithium-containing compound and the second lithium-containing compound are Li 1 + a (Mn b Co c Ni 1-bc ) 1-a M d O 2-e (M is Al, etc., 0. 1 <a <0.25, 0.5 ≦ b <0.7, 0 ≦ c <1-b, 0 ≦ d ≦ 1, 0 ≦ e ≦ 1). The crystallite diameter D1 of the primary particles of the first lithium-containing compound satisfies 1200 nm ≦ D1 ≦ 1900 nm, and the crystallite diameter D2 of the primary particles of the second lithium-containing compound satisfies 350 nm ≦ D2 ≦ 900 nm. The mixing ratio of the first lithium-containing compound and the second lithium-containing compound is: first lithium-containing compound: second lithium-containing compound = 80: 20 to 70:30 in weight ratio.
