abstract The treatment of physiological dysfunction and the risk of patients developing such dysfunction are reduced. Disclosed is the use of selected DPP IV inhibitors to treat physiological dysfunction and to reduce the risk of patients developing such dysfunction. Similarly, the use of the DPP IV inhibitor in combination with other drugs, such as drugs that can provide improved therapeutic results, is also disclosed.
