abstract A method for producing a catalyst structure of a flue gas desulfurization apparatus capable of improving the strength of a supported portion of the catalyst structure and improving durability. A method of manufacturing a catalyst structure of a flue gas desulfurization apparatus is a method of manufacturing a honeycomb catalyst structure 10 used in a flue gas desulfurization apparatus that recovers sulfur oxide in exhaust gas as sulfuric acid. An activated carbon-based desulfurization catalyst sheet 20 (20A, 20B) is bonded or welded and laminated to form an integrated block-like shape having a large number of channels extending in the vertical direction and having upper and lower ends opened. The honeycomb catalyst structure 10 is manufactured. The lower end portion of the honeycomb catalyst structure 10 is supported and installed on the support portions 31Ca and 31Cb. The laminated desulfurization catalyst sheets 20 are joined in an upper region of the supported portion of the honeycomb catalyst structure 10 supported by at least the support portions 31Ca at both end portions.
