abstract | A polarizing plate manufacturing method, a polarizing plate, and a liquid crystal display device having high polarization degree and transmittance and excellent durability of polarization degree are provided. A method of manufacturing a polarizing plate having a stretched laminate in which a laminate of a base material layer and a hydrophilic polymer layer is stretched and at least a dichroic substance is adsorbed on the hydrophilic polymer layer. A laminating step of laminating a hydrophilic polymer layer on the base material layer to form a laminate, a rubbing treatment step of rubbing the hydrophilic polymer layer side of the laminate, and a hydrophilic treatment after the rubbing treatment step. Stretching the laminate in at least one of the dyeing step of dyeing the polymer layer with at least a dichroic material and before the rubbing treatment step after the lamination step or before the dyeing step after the rubbing treatment step A stretching step.
