abstract The present invention provides a heat transport fluid having improved thermal conductivity without increasing the kinematic viscosity of a liquid by stably dispersing novel graphite carbon nanofibers in a base liquid. The catalyst is produced on a metal substrate by heating a metal substrate as a catalyst disposed in a reaction vessel whose interior is maintained in a reducing atmosphere and supplying a carbon-containing (compound) gas into the reaction vessel. The carbon fiber is obtained by adding graphite carbon nanofibers, which are linear carbon fibers formed by stacking graphene sheets in multiple layers in the longitudinal direction, together with a dispersant to the base liquid.
