A photo-alignment material capable of producing a photo-alignment film having high optical uniformity without alignment defects and capable of photo-alignment even in a short exposure. A specific photo-alignable polymer having a silicone group or a fluorine-substituted alkyl group and a photo-alignable group is polymerized with a monomer containing at least one selected from the group consisting of methacrylic acid and methacrylic acid esters. And the resulting non-photo-alignable polymer.
