abstract | Provided is a method for industrially advantageously recovering triethylamine and acetone from a homogeneous waste liquid containing naphthalenedicarboxylic acid triethylamine salt, water, triethylamine and acetone, which is produced in the process of producing naphthalenedicarboxylic acid. An alkali metal is added to a uniform waste solution containing naphthalenedicarboxylic acid triethylamine salt, water, 2% by mass to 20% by mass of triethylamine, and 22% by mass to 70% by mass of acetone, which is produced in the production of naphthalenedicarboxylic acid. After adding hydroxide and / or alkaline earth metal hydroxide to perform base substitution, the waste liquid is distilled while maintaining the state in which the base-substituted naphthalenedicarboxylate is dissolved.
