An anti-connexin polynucleotide is provided as a composition for impaired wound healing. Control of connexins to treat wounds that do not heal at the expected rate, including delayed healing wounds, incomplete healing wounds and chronic wounds, and related methods, compositions and products. In one embodiment, the present invention provides increased healing of wounds that do not heal at the expected rate, such as delayed healing wounds, incomplete healing wounds, chronic wounds, and the like by the use of one or more connexin antisense polynucleotides. Provide improvements. In one aspect, the invention includes a synthetic or natural wound healing matrix comprising an anti-connexin polynucleotide. In certain embodiments, the anti-connexin polynucleotide is an anti-connexin 43 polynucleotide, eg, an anti-connexin 43 polynucleotide. [Selection figure] None |
