abstract A gas circuit breaker capable of blowing a relatively low temperature arc extinguishing gas to an arc plasma from the latter half of an arc discharge occurrence time to a current zero point. A gas circuit breaker is a gas flow generating means for blowing off an arc-extinguishing gas 4 against an arc plasma 15 generated between a movable contact 2 and an opposing contact 3 in the process of interruption. The puffer chamber 5 and the pressure accumulating chamber 10 are provided. The puffer chamber 5 communicates with an arc plasma generation space generated in the process of shutoff, and the volume decreases as the movable contact 2 and the opposing contact 3 are separated. The pressure accumulating chamber 10 is formed so as to communicate only with the puffer chamber 5. [Selection] Figure 1
