abstract A surface acoustic wave element having a small propagation attenuation of a vertical leaky surface acoustic wave and an electronic component using the surface acoustic wave element are provided. And a ratio of the phase velocity of the bulk longitudinal wave of the dielectric material to the phase velocity of the bulk longitudinal wave of the piezoelectric material is 0.95 or more.
