abstract | A method for producing a prepolymerized catalyst component closer to a target degree of polymerization is provided. A method for producing a prepolymerized catalyst component in which an olefin is fed into a reactor and the olefin is polymerized in the presence of a solvent and an olefin polymerization catalyst, wherein a predetermined amount of the olefin is placed in the reactor. Then, the supply of olefin is stopped, and after the amount of unreacted olefin in the reactor becomes 15% by weight or less of the predetermined amount of olefin supplied, unreacted olefin is purged from the reactor.
