abstract | [Object] To obtain nitrogen element, which is reported as one of the catalytic activity factors of a carbon catalyst, by using a material that can be easily introduced into a carbon material as a nitrogen source and heat-treating and carbonizing a precursor containing them. Another object of the present invention is to provide a carbon catalyst, a method for producing the carbon catalyst, and a fuel cell using the catalyst. An object of the present invention is to provide an organic compound selected from the group consisting of an organic compound having a basic functional group or an acidic functional group in an aromatic ring, and an organic compound having a basic functional group or an acidic functional group in a heterocyclic ring.
