abstract | The present invention has excellent ejection stability, no blurring of characters, no blurring of color boundaries, and the like, and further, color reproducibility of images, durability, light resistance, image drying properties, scratch resistance, duplex printing properties, etc. An object of the present invention is to provide an ink-jet ink composition which is good and does not cause abnormalities even when stored for a long period of time. In an ink composition for ink jet recording comprising at least a colorant, water, and a water-soluble organic solvent, the colorant is dispersed with carbon black having a hydrophilic group on a surface and a sodium naphthalene sulfonate formalin condensate.
