abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide prolongation of allograft survival by suppressing complement activity. A method for prolonging the survival of allograft cells, tissues or organs is presented. These methods are intended to administer a complement activity inhibitor to an allograft recipient along with one or more immunosuppressive agents and / or immunosuppressive methods. Inhibitors of complement activity are administered chronically. These methods are designed to assist in preventing chronic rejection of allografts. These methods can additionally be used when the recipient is presensitized to an allograft in which there is an ABO mismatch between the allograft and the recipient. [Selection figure] None
