titleOfInvention Method and system for using geographic data in computer game development
abstract A system and method for facilitating the development of a computer game that includes an indication of a real world region such as a road network within the region. Systems and methods are disclosed for facilitating the development of computer games that depict or display actual real-world regions as part of a game play scenario. The source database includes data representing geographic features in the region including roads in the region. The data in the source database includes attributes suitable for use to provide navigation related functions. In addition to providing data from the source database for navigation-related functions, data from the source database is also provided for computer game development. Application programming interfaces and other tools for handling geographic data are provided for accessing and processing geographic data. [Selection] Figure 2
