abstract The present invention provides a technique for reducing deformation of a compression plate in an apparatus for acquiring characteristic information of a subject. A characteristic information acquisition apparatus according to the present invention supports a subject and has a support means having an opening for inserting a test portion of the subject, and a test portion inserted into the opening. A holding means; and a receiving means for receiving information related to the characteristics of the test part. The holding means has a pressing means that is pressed against a surface different from the surface holding the subject.
