A method for producing spherical or substantially spherical fluorescent particles having a diameter of ˜50 μm and an average roundness of 0.3 or less. [Effects] The fluorescent particles of the present invention can suppress variations in the amount of fluorescent material, the distribution of fluorescent materials, and the size of fluorescent particles in materials such as resin and inorganic glass in which the fluorescent particles are dispersed. Thus, a light-emitting diode, a lighting device, and a backlight device for a liquid crystal panel with little variation in chromaticity can be provided. [Selection] Figure 1
