Surface electrode design that can be left in place during MR imaging |
abstract |
A plurality of surface electrodes, such as an ECG or a defibrillator, that can remain in place during MR imaging. The surface electrode includes a quick disconnect wire for carrying the signal to a signal processing system that is removed during MR imaging to prevent heat from being generated. Each electrode includes a conductive layer that is divided into separate adjacent portions by a tear to reduce eddy currents induced in the surface electrode when the surface electrode is exposed to magnetic field variations and RF pulses. The portion is all connected to the conductive location through the layer to allow the signal to be connected to the transmission conductor. [Selection] Figure 1 |
