An electrode active material and a method for producing the same, and an electrode and a lithium battery using the same are provided. SOLUTION: A core capable of occluding and releasing lithium, and a surface treatment layer formed on at least a part of the core, wherein the surface treatment layer includes a lithium-free oxide having a spinel structure, and does not contain lithium. It is an X-ray diffraction spectrum using Cu-Kα rays related to an oxide, and an electrode active material having a peak intensity related to an impurity phase of a noise level or less, a manufacturing method thereof, and an electrode and a lithium battery employing the electrode active material.
