An organic EL element that emits blue light with high luminance, color purity, luminous efficiency, and durability, a display device, and a lighting device are provided. In an organic EL device in which a light-emitting layer contains two or more types of host compounds and one or more types of dopants, the excitation triplet energy of at least one type of host compound is 2.7 eV or more, which is the deepest of the host compounds. The HOMO energy level of the compound having HOMO is HOMO-H, the HOMO energy level of the dopant is HOMO-D, and the LUMO energy level of the compound having the shallowest LUMO among the host compounds is LUMO-H. When the LUMO energy level is LUMO-D, the following formula is satisfied.
