abstract | Provided is an electrophotographic photosensitive member capable of suppressing the accumulation of residual potential even when charging and discharging are repeated and forming an image having excellent graininess. A layer constituting the outermost surface of the photosensitive layer, at least one selected from the guanamine compound and a melamine compound, and, -OH, -OCH 3, -NH 2, is selected from -SH and -COOH A cross-linked product of a charge transporting material having at least one substituent, a fluororesin particle, an oligomer of a carboxylic acid having a —CF 3 group as a terminal group, and a residual solvent containing an alcohol solvent, and an alcohol When the content of the solvent includes an alcohol solvent having 3 or less carbon atoms as an alcohol solvent, it is 0.1% by mass or more and 20% by mass or less based on the total residual solvent, and an alcohol solvent having 4 or more carbon atoms is used as the alcohol solvent. When included, the content is 0.1% by mass or more and 60% by mass or less, and the content of the charge transporting material in the layer constituting the outermost surface is 85% by mass or more.
