abstract |
Disclosed are gemini surfactants and emulsions that have excellent surface activity and that can be easily demulsified without adding any additional components to the emulsion. An emulsification method is provided. [Solution] The gemini surfactant according to the present invention has a structure in which two molecules of a tertiary amine are connected to both ends of an azobenzene group, and a hydrocarbon chain having a specific carbon number is introduced as one of the substituents of the tertiary amine. In addition to being able to form a stable emulsion having excellent surface activity, phase separation can be easily carried out by irradiating the emulsion to which the surfactant is added with ultraviolet light. Therefore, it is possible to provide a simple emulsion demulsification means that does not affect the component system and does not require removal of an additive component such as a demulsifier.
