A photostable pharmaceutical composition containing axitinib. The present invention provides N-methyl-2- [3-((E) -2-pyridin-2-yl-vinyl) -1H-indazole-6 which protects axitinib from degradation, including photolysis. Contains axitinib known as -ylsulfanyl] -benzamide or 6- [2- (methylcarbamoyl) phenylsulfanyl] -3-E- [2- (pyridin-2-yl) ethenyl] indazole, or a crystalline form thereof Pharmaceutical compositions as well as therapeutic uses of such compositions.
