An automatic analyzer that can automatically calibrate an apparatus analyzer and guarantee the state of the apparatus without increasing the size and complexity of the apparatus. An automatic apparatus comprising a light source that is disposed at a photometric position and that irradiates light to a reaction vessel that contains a mixed liquid of a sample and a reagent, and a photometer that detects transmitted light or scattered light from the mixed liquid. The analyzer is provided with a calibration member used for calibration and status check of the photometer on the reaction disk on which the reaction vessel is arranged, and the calibration of the photometer is automatically and periodically performed by the calibration member. In addition, periodic check of the state of the device analyzer such as fluctuation of the light intensity of the photometer, contamination of the reaction vessel, contamination due to foreign matter of the circulating water in the thermostatic chamber is regularly performed.
