abstract | Disclosed is a thin film of a protective film for a liquid crystal polarizing plate, which can suppress variations in retardation in the width direction of the film, can suppress minute retardation differences, and can improve the flatness of the film. Provided is a method for producing an optical film, which can meet the demands for increasing the width, width and quality, and increasing the film forming speed. In a method for producing an optical film by a solution casting film forming method, drying air is blown onto a web 10 on a support 1 to evaporate a part of a solvent contained in the web, so that the width direction of the web is increased. Use dry air supply and exhaust that can change the speed of the drying air at the center and both ends. Compared to the exhaust air velocity of the drying air blown to the center in the width direction of the web, the exhaust air velocity of the drying air blown to both ends in the width direction of the web is made smaller to supply the drying air blown to the center portion in the width direction of the web. Compared to the air speed, the air supply speed of the dry air blown to both ends in the width direction of the web is increased. [Selection] Figure 1 |
