Provided is an electrode active material for a lithium ion secondary battery that can be suitably used for the production of a lithium ion secondary battery having excellent output and cycle life, and also provides the electrode active material for the lithium ion secondary battery. Provided is an electrode body for a lithium ion secondary battery and a lithium ion secondary battery manufactured using the same. An electrode active material according to the present invention is characterized by having a mother particle 11 made of LiCoO 2 and a coating layer 12 made of Li 2 TiO 3 .
