abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide an aromatic polyester composition capable of suppressing the by-production of acetaldehyde and achieving improvement in productivity without impairing the transparency of the bottle, and an aromatic polyester composition thereof. A process for producing an aromatic polyester composition comprising blending a polyhexamethylene terephthalate having a hydrophilic group and a mixture of an alkali metal compound or an alkaline earth metal compound to the aromatic polyester, the polyhexamethylene terephthalate having the hydrophilic group The aromatic polyester composition is 1.0 to 100 ppm based on the aromatic polyester, and the blending amount of the alkali metal compound or alkaline earth metal compound is 0.1 to 100 ppm based on the aromatic polyester.
