titleOfInvention | Materials and methods for capturing pathogens from samples and removing aurintricarboxylic acid |
abstract | An infectious pathogen and a method for facilitating extraction of the pathogen DNA from a sample such as a large amount of blood are provided. A method for extracting an infectious agent from a sample, such as blood, comprising the steps of forming a fibrin aggregate confined to the agent and introducing a fibrinolytic reagent that exposes the agent for analysis and material. The fibrinolysis reagent is composed of frozen plasminogen and streptokinase, and upon thawing, the streptokinase reacts enzymatically with plasminogen to form plasmin. A method of suspending in a saline solution containing NaCl and Na 3 PO 4 preferably before freezing. In addition, materials and methods for efficiently removing ATA from samples containing nucleic acid compositions so that RT-PCR reactions and other reactions involving reverse transcriptase can be performed.
