abstract A method for bonding a sound absorbing material to a vulcanized inner liner without surface purification is provided. A method of making a pneumatic tire having a foam noise damper (20) comprising two beads (14), a tread (13) portion, and a pair of sidewalls coupled to each bead. And a carcass 12 supporting a tread portion and a pair of sidewalls and an inner liner 16 having an inner liner surface 18 facing the inner cavity of the tire. Then, the adhesive was prepared by applying a silicone adhesive to the inner liner surface and forming a solid foam noise reduction tool (foam noise damper 22) so as to constitute the surface on which the adhesive 22 was prepared.
